Programming The Big Bear Repeater Into A Wouxun UV2D/UV3D Hand Held Radio
Desired Settings:
· Receive 147.330 MHz
· Transmit +0.600 MHz offset (147.930 MHz)
· PL Tone 131.8 Hz
Function Button Notes:
· MENU Button
o Press to enter into the Menu
o Press to select a menu item to change the function.
o Press to save the chosen selection.
· CHANNEL Knob – Turn to cycle through the menu items & to select the options of a menu that is being changed.
· UP & DOWN Buttons – Can be alternately used instead of the channel knob.
· The radio will exit the menu after pausing for more than 5 seconds. Pressing ENTER will go back to the same place, unless the radio turned off before pressing MENU.
· The radio will exit MENU function after a change is made to some functions.
STEPS:
To help make it less confusing, press the green TDR button until only one frequency is visible on the display.
Predetermine the desired memory number to save the repeater into. It will not be possible to go through the menus while programming.
MENU 21 (CH-MDF) – Change to FREQ, using the UP/DOWN buttons or Channel Knob.
Enter the desired receive frequency – 1-4-7-3-3-0 (147.330 MHz)
MENU 15 (R-CTC) – Change to 131.8Hz, using the UP/DOWN buttons or Channel Knob.
MENU 16 (T-CTC) – Change to 131.8Hz, using the UP/DOWN buttons or Channel Knob.
MENU 23 (OFFSET) – Either enter “0-0-6-0-0”, using the UP/DOWN buttons or Channel Knob until “00.600” is displayed.
MENU 24 (SFT-D) – Set to “+”, using the UP/DOWN buttons or Channel Knob.
MENU 27 (MEM-CH) – Enter the desired memory channel with the number pad. It must be 3 digits. Channel 1 is 0-0-1.
MENU 21 (CH-MDF) – Change to NAME, using the UP/DOWN buttons or Channel Knob.
MENU 26 (CHNAME) – Enter the name of the memory you want to show. Here are the button functions:
· Press the UP button to cycle through the selections. It only goes forward, so passing the desired selection means cycling all the way around.
o Order: Alphas; Special Characters; Numbers
o The CHANNEL knob can be used, but only clock-wise (forward)
· Press the DOWN button to advance to the next character position.
o The selection begins one past (forward of) the last chosen character.
